Residents press Arvada to fix Tennyson Knowles Park, cite failed turf conversion areas

Neighbors told council that Tennyson Knowles Park has declined since a turf conversion pilot and that roughly 42% of the park is 'bare or dead' outside the conversion area; they asked for better maintenance, biodiverse seed mixes and audits of irrigation.

Karen DeAueto, an Arlington Meadows resident, delivered a photo packet to council and said Tennyson Knowles Park has "deteriorated significantly over the past year," estimating "nearly 42% of our park being negatively impacted by poor maintenance." She said the city's turf conversion pilot covers about 32% of the park (3.8 acres) and that two other parks (Jack B. Tomlinson and Clubcrest North) also lack established native plant stands following conversion work.
