The state audit sampled 20 student records and found 13 lacked sufficient documentation to support removal from the cohort; the district outlined a standard operating procedure, staff training, multi-level verification and central oversight by the Office of Technology to address the findings and set a Sept. 30 deliverable for written procedures.

Superintendent Buck presented the district's response to a targeted Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) audit of Pawtucket's 2024 adjusted cohort graduation data. RIDE sampled 20 students reported as out-of-state transfers and found 13 records did not include sufficient documentation to justify exclusion from the graduation cohort; six records contained adequate proof and one was miscoded.
