Bastrop ISD board certifies compliance with Texas Education Code on DEI and controversial issues
The board approved the district's certification under Texas Education Code §§39.008, 11.005 and 28.0022, with administration reporting no staff or programs were attributed to DEI activities and noting a Sept. 30 submission deadline to TEA.

Superintendent Dr. Kristi Lee presented the district's 2026'27 certification of compliance with Texas Education Code Sections 39.008, 11.005, and 28.0022. Lee told the board the district had identified applicable policies and procedures, updated employee and contractor notifications, and reported that "no staff or programs were attributed to DEI activities and, therefore, no cost savings resulted from compliance."
