SORM explores AI pilots, advances cybersecurity modules and tests cloud migration

Board members asked whether the agency is piloting generative AI. Staff said the agency has not opted into vendor AI features in production and that any internal AI deployment would require Department of Information Resources (DIR) approval and alignment with pending legislation and cyber guidance. “AI in particular is something that we are very, very seriously exploring,” Executive Director Steven Bulbrick said, noting governance and authorization remain prerequisites.
