Contractors are pouring sidewalk concrete at the new Geneva County multi-purpose arena; staff will present estimates for seeding or sod and commissioners said the arena soil mixture should be 70/30. Substantial completion is projected the first week of April.

County commissioners heard a construction update March 9 on the new multi-purpose arena and were told concrete work for sidewalks is underway. Chairman Toby L. Seay said the contractor will provide quantities and cost estimates for either seeding or sodding the exterior because the original plans included grading but not finish landscaping, and the commission will decide whether to fund the work from contingency or defer it.
