Ed Tierney, deputy superintendent at Palm Beach County School District and a finalist for Monroe County superintendent, opened his three‑minute statement by describing a career that began as an ESE teacher and advanced through school leadership to districtwide oversight. "So I'm deeply honored to be considered as a finalist for superintendent of Monroe County School District, and I'm grateful for the board for this opportunity and the time," Tierney said.
