Jun 2, 2026

The board approved an updated planning and zoning fee schedule (last updated in 1997) that raises several application fees, creates an administrative lot‑split fee, and adds staged fees for major conditional uses such as data centers, solar and commercial wind projects; the measure will be forwarded to county commissioners.

The full story

Planning staff presented an updated zoning and platting fee schedule—last updated in 1997—and asked the board to recommend it to the Board of County Commissioners. Proposed changes include raising zoning-change application fees from $300 to $400, increasing conditional-use permit fees from $400 to $500, creating a new administrative lot-split fee for simple lot splits handled administratively, and setting higher or staged fees for large conditional-use applications such as data centers, utility-scale solar and commercial wind projects. Staff also proposed a single-step final-plat fee and modest increases for vacation and other administrative items.
