Council adopts ordinance creating preapproved housing design plan program
On second reading the Council adopted Ordinance No. 2026-09 to create a Preapproved Housing Design Plan Program and online plan library under A.R.S. § 9-461.19, allowing non-site-specific plan pre-review and acceptance of plans preapproved by other municipalities with identical codes.

Mayor Johann Wallace presented Ordinance No. 2026-09, which would amend Town Code Title 15 to establish a Preapproved Housing Design Plan Program and an online Preapproved Plan Library under A.R.S. § 9-461.19. The program allows architects to submit non-site-specific housing plan sets for pre-review and, if compliant, to list them in the town's online library; the town may accept plans preapproved by other municipalities that have adopted the same building codes.
