Commission hears three land‑development text amendments on first reading; items to return in two weeks

Apr 7, 2026

Staff presented three first‑reading text amendments — definitions/standards for flex space and retail plazas, a new 'storage yard' use for industrial districts, and an administrative plat approval change moving signature authority to the land development director with an alternate designee; no formal action was required today.

The full story

Land Development Director Ben Ziskel presented three separate text amendments on first reading under the expedited hearing process: LDCT 2025‑28 (standards and definitions for flex space and retail plazas); LDCT 2025‑29 (adding 'storage yard' as a defined use in industrial districts); and LDCT 2025‑30 (administrative plat approval changes to comply with state legislation). Ziskel said the items are first readings so no formal action was required today and that the proposed amendments will return in two weeks for adoption.
