Marshall City Council approved a $74,340 purchase of 7/95 overhead conductor to continue a 15‑year voltage conversion plan intended to standardize distribution lines at 7,200 volts for greater reliability and improved outage response.

Christy, a city staff member, told the council the purchase is part of a 15‑year plan to convert older 4,160‑volt lines to 7,200 volts to improve reliability and allow circuits to tie into different substations. "I'm here tonight to request, approval to purchase some 7 95 overhead conductor," she said.
