Demographer: Lamar CISD forecasts continued hypergrowth; Austin Point and other developments to drive enrollment
District demographers reported strong housing starts and closings, forecasting multi-year hypergrowth: 94 active subdivisions, major developments including Austin Point (10,000 single-family lots) and Foster Farms (~6,500 lots), and projected enrollment of about 57,600 in five years and 67,412 in 10 years.

Mr. Maxwell presented Q3 demographic data showing continued residential growth across Lamar CISD. Regional unemployment hovered near 4.1–4.5%; year-over-year housing starts increased about 13% while closings rose 9%. The district has 94 active subdivisions and groundwork underway on more than 5,000 lots across 18 subdivisions.
