Commissioners defer major recreation projects, approve gym bleacher replacement and pay changes
The Board approved $60,000 for gym bleacher replacement, deferred pickleball courts and batting cages until the Recreation Master Plan is complete, and adjusted Recreation Director Waskey’s pay grade and Assistant Director Robert Allen’s pay grade.

The Recreation Department presented several capital requests and personnel changes during the budget work session. Staff recommended against funding pickleball courts and covered bleachers and proposed reducing the AgGeorgia field renovation to $100,000; following discussion the Board deferred the batting cages and AgGeorgia field renovations until the Recreation Master Plan is complete and approved $60,000 for gym bleacher replacement.
