The Normal Town Council approved an ordinance extending the moratorium on data center facilities through May 31, 2027. Staff said the first six months of the original moratorium were used to gather information, review other municipal ordinances (including Aurora), visit communities with data centers, and participate in community meetings; the extension gives time to monitor state-level activity and coordinate with neighboring Bloomington.
