The Big Sandy Independent School District Board of Trustees voted on Sept. 8, 2025, to initiate an immediate internal search for the position of superintendent limited to current district employees. "Motion made by Hollie De La Cruz and Seconded by George Strub that the Board of Trustees initiate an immediate internal search for the position of Superintendent of Schools, limited to current district employees, and that the board establish a process and timeline for the selection," the minutes record.
