Wayne County approves multiple hires, a lateral transfer and several resignations
At its Feb. 19 meeting, the commissioners accepted resignations, rescinded a job offer, approved hires for correctional officers and a nurse effective Feb. 23, and approved a lateral transfer and a new Children & Youth caseworker hire effective March 9.

The commissioners approved several personnel actions recorded in the minutes. The board moved to rescind the employment offer to Veronica Gifford in the Wayne County Transportation Department and accepted resignations from Michael Iovacchini (Aging Care Manager 2, effective Feb. 9, 2026) and Dianne Madrey (Casework Supervisor at Wayne County Children and Youth Services, effective March 6, 2026). Each motion was moved and seconded and the minutes state the motions "carried."
