The committee approved a plan to transition the city recorder position from an elected role to the classified service after the incumbent's current term ends in January 2027 and forwarded a separate resolution recommending the incumbent's appointment and compensation arrangements. Staff said classifying the position requires a job description and placement on the pay scale; the appointment package set the incumbent's classified-service date as Jan. 5, 2027, set compensation at the SH grade step five and provided certain leave and service-date accommodations.
