Bill Russell committee readies recommendations, seeks family input before January sunset
The ad hoc Commemoration Establishment Committee (ACE) reported progress on community programming and outlined recommendations (acknowledgement statement, standing committee, scholarship/award) and said it will return to the Russell family for feedback before finalizing a report expected this winter.

The ad hoc Commemoration Establishment Committee, charged with proposing ways to honor Bill Russell’s legacy, told the Select Board that it is preparing final recommendations and hopes to secure input and approval from Russell family representatives before completing its report. David Monahan, the Select Board designee to ACE, said the group has produced well‑attended community events (book discussions, film screenings, the Game Changers series) and will present draft recommendations in October and November with a goal of bringing a final package to the board by early February.
