Council hears progress, fundraising and LEED requirement for UNT Dallas training center
The bond office said design is complete and GMP2 (building package) is scheduled for council on Oct. 14; private donors have committed $31.5M and the office is pursuing about $38.5M more, while a council resolution requires LEED Gold for the project.

Jenny Niswander, director of the city’s bond office, told the Public Safety Committee that design work for the Dallas Police Department Law Enforcement Training Center at UNT Dallas is finished and the project has moved into construction. "Design's over," Niswander said, and the office expects to take the GMP 2 package — which covers the actual buildings on the site — to council in October.
