Neighbors say Sterling Ranch daycare plan shortchanges parking, reduces required buffer

Two neighbors at the Sept. 22 hearing presented a 20-signature petition and argued the daycare plan lacks required parking (48 spaces vs. a claimed 72 required) and does not meet a 30-foot residential buffer, asking the board to halt the project for noncompliance.

Arc Bogat, a resident who said he represents 20 families living along Snake River Street, told the board he collected signatures and read alleged discrepancies between the submitted plan and Douglas County requirements. “There are only 48 off street spaces. So, it's 24 spaces short,” he told the commissioners, and he argued the landscaping buffer between the parking facility and residential uses is largely 20 feet rather than the 30 feet he said the county requires.
