Council discussed the town's outstanding master-plan contract with the Treasure Coast Regional Planning Council and chose to end the engagement 'as is' on Sept. 23. Staff said the contract had been on hold and that an outstanding invoice had been paid; Thomas Lanahan of the Treasure Coast Regional Planning Council had indicated the council could pause or part ways. Several councilors cited Senate Bill 250 — which constrains amendments to comprehensive plans — and the absence of a clear vision statement as reasons to suspend the work now and re-engage later with a new scope.
