Members responding to the mixed-use survey question said they favored carefully scaled integration of housing and local commercial uses, not large apartment towers. "I clearly see strong support for transitioning from single use zoning to more mixed use designations," said Chris Nettles, a community psychologist and local council member, summarizing comment themes that favored small-scale commercial and light industrial uses consistent with a neighborhood feel.
