Multiple participants said preserving the distinctive ‘pioneer log’ feel of Cob Village is important and recommended that the area plan include a priority to develop design guidelines for future commercial development. Participants cited examples from other local area plans (Middletown, Lower Lake) where design guidelines shaped storefront and signage improvements and helped integrate chain stores into community character.
