Board approves $93,550 for site-based math professional development
The board approved $93,550 to bring SAS trainers to school sites for job-embedded math professional development in January 2027, including targeted sessions for special education staff, after Vanessa Romero described differentiated onsite plans and schedules.

Vanessa Romero, director of teaching and learning, told the board the proposal would fund job-embedded trainers from SAS to work at school sites starting Jan. 21 and running through Jan. 28, with smaller schools receiving half days and larger sites full days. "It would start in January the 21st and go through the 28th," Romero said, adding this would include the district's first specific PD for special education teachers.
