Drain commissioner urges extra BSNA training after data conversion errors

Barry County Drain Commissioner Jim D. told commissioners the county's migration from Eden to the BSNA cloud system left the drain office without reliable balance information and incomplete transaction history. He said data conversion failed to carry over word fields and that an accountant might need to enter balances; "we don't know any of our drain balances," he said during the report.

Jim D. asked the board to authorize "another half day training for Liz" so staff can complete invoicing and expense reporting tasks and improve their ability to reconcile accounts. He noted the drain office assesses more than $1 million annually across multiple drain accounts and flagged concern that inadequate conversion or service could affect fiscal accuracy. County administration later told the board it would pursue follow-up training and meetings with the accountant to resolve balance issues.
