Antonio Gosha told the assembly that artificial intelligence requires governance that is "accountable, transparent and regulated." He warned that the AI industry "cannot be regulated by a few major global companies" and urged the United Nations to lead the development of global standards via mechanisms he named, including a United Nations Global Digital Compact and an Independent International Scientific Panel.
