Committee refers temporary-easement ordinance for SE Division safety upgrades to Council
PBOT sought authority to acquire temporary construction easements for raised medians and pedestrian improvements on SE Division (148th–174th). Staff said raised medians in other segments cut crashes by up to 55%; PBOT plans construction in spring 2028 and will negotiate compensation before resorting to condemnation.

The Public Works Committee voted to refer Ordinance Document 2026-334 to the full City Council, authorizing PBOT to acquire temporary construction easements (including condemnation authority if necessary) to construct safety and ADA improvements on Southeast Division Street between SE 148th and SE 174th.
