The Clay County Board of Zoning Adjustment voted to deny four variances requested for the Fulton Ridge subdivision (case PZ26-124) after hearing a staff presentation, the applicant’s justification and more than a dozen public comments focused on septic, runoff and safety concerns. Commissioner John Carpenter moved to deny the application; the motion carried on a 3–0 roll call (Lawson — yes; Carpenter — yes; Wagner — yes).
