Mayor Rezin Hudkins explained that Ordinance 2026-06 repeals Article 745.29 of the codified ordinances because the provision should have been removed when the town adopted home rule; he said the town previously was required to give up 5% of B&O taxes to receive sales and use tax under state requirements. Councilor Charlene Louk moved to accept the repeal and Councilor Karen Phillips seconded; the ordinance passed by roll call (Councilor Rick Lafferty — Yes; Councilor Sam Maxson — absent; Councilor Charlene Louk — Yes; Councilor Karen Phillips — Yes; Recorder Natalie Haddix — Yes; Councilor Shawn Spurlock — Yes). "This repeal should have occurred when home rule was established," the mayor said during explanation.
