Commission seeks clearer wildfire maps after insurance discrepancy reported
Commissioners asked staff to follow up with the county on high-resolution wildfire-hazard mapping after a commissioner said their insurer listed their address as "moderate" while the map showed "high." Staff will contact Eagle County wildfire staff for higher-resolution maps for town residents.

Commissioners reviewed state and county wildfire-hazard maps supplied with the packet and raised concerns about map resolution and how insurance companies use those maps. One commissioner said they had proactively checked with their insurance company, which had classified their property as "moderate," while the map presented in the packet showed higher risk for that address.
