HOA review committee says it checked aesthetics, not structural compliance
A representative of the subdivision HOA told the council the HOA's design review committee reviewed the house plans for appearance and fit but that recent CC&Rs removed structural measurement responsibilities from the HOA.

At the Star Valley hearing, Mr. Somerfeld, speaking for the homeowners association design review committee, told the council the HOA received and reviewed the plans but that the committee's role was limited to appearance and compatibility with subdivision character. He said recent CC&Rs removed the HOA's authority to evaluate building placement or measurements.
