The recorder asked supervisors to approve an exception that would raise an assistant’s pay after presenting market comparisons that show the position is about $20,000 below the average for comparable counties. She told the board the employee has produced savings and improved the county’s land-records searchability and that the office had prepared a compromise proposal for an upgrade.
