Courthouse renovation moves ahead on level two as structural issues slow level three

County project staff and contractors described progress on the downtown courthouse renovation: magistrate and bench‑trial courtrooms on level one are complete and occupied, the clerk of court has moved into its new first‑floor space, and level two framing and rough‑ins are underway. Staff said level two is running ahead of the adjusted schedule but work on level three is in a holding pattern while structural issues are investigated because some demolition could affect attic support systems. "Level three is going to be sliding back, but level two slides up," a project presenter said when explaining schedule adjustments.
