The board approved a memorandum of understanding with the Clay County Sheriff's Office to formalize long-standing emergency dispatching services; the police chief said the MOU documents an existing practice rather than changing service or fees.

Kearney aldermen approved an ordinance authorizing a memorandum of understanding with the Clay County Missouri Sheriff's Office to provide emergency dispatching services for the city. Police Chief Mark Thomas told the board Clay County had provided dispatch services for a very long time and the MOU documents that arrangement.
