Staff briefs commission on building-code update, comp plan and possible consent-agenda changes for HPC decisions

Staff provided a legislative update showing the department’s 2026 workload and noted that a package to update local building codes to the 2024 International Code Council standards would go to City Council that night for public hearing. The comprehensive plan will proceed through the planning-and-zoning process in June and then to city council in July, and staff said future work will include housing-related development agreements and zoning-code housekeeping to comply with state statute.
