Committee debated language that would ask the county to update federal flood-insurance maps when localized flooding conditions warrant it, with several members opposing proactive updates and recommending that FEMA perform its own mapping. They retained floodplain-management standards for designated 100-year floodplains and discouraged hazardous-material storage in flood-prone areas.
