Staff presented Metro's Gulfton Connector Busway amendment as a proposed 4.1-mile dedicated busway with seven stations linking the West Park/Lower Uptown Transit Center to Balen Park. Petra Shaw, planning staff, said the amendment would reclassify Chimney Rock Road, Gulfton (Gulfton) Street and Hillcroft Avenue to transit-corridor designations and that "staff is in support of this request." The presentation noted the reclassification is intended to reorient corridors for multimodal transit service and connect riders to local bus routes and key destinations.
