Panel clarifies deputy pay, PTO policy and average hours

Panel members explained payroll arrangements for deputies and the marshal: pay for the marshal was described as based on an average of 30 hours per week after being moved to hourly pay and then to contract; the panel said part-time employees generally do not accrue ongoing PTO though previously earned PTO may be owed.

Panel members clarified several payroll and staffing points after resident questions. A committee member said the marshal's pay is "based on the average of what he was working since he went on hourly, which is 30 hours per week," and noted the marshal was later placed on a contract effective Jan. 1.
