624 Laurel rezoned to R2; council notes interdependence with neighboring lot

Council voted to rezone 624 Laurel Street from Light Industrial to R2 one- and two-family residence district after staff discussion that closely tied the outcome to the neighboring 622 Laurel request. Barbara Carroll, Community Development Director, explained that if both parcels are rezoned the setback between the two would default to a 7.5-foot residential side-yard standard; if only one rezones, the remaining industrial parcel would carry a 30-foot setback on its residential property line.
