Law enforcement presented a proposal to purchase and contract two license‑plate‑reading (LPR) cameras — one east and one south of town — on a three‑year agreement totaling $13,300. The first year would cost $7,300 (including $1,300 in installation fees for two cameras) and years two and three $6,000 each. The presenter said the system notifies participating agencies when a plate on a watch list, a stolen vehicle, or an Amber/Silver Alert passes a camera.
