Alicia Cosky, Beautification Committee member, said the pinwheels used in recent downtown planters could not withstand the wind and several were removed, and that the 250 celebration flags previously used had worked better but are now outdated. The committee agreed to continue using decorative 'bling' in planters and to test better hardware and materials for durability.
