Charter/Spectrum outlines major RDOF build for Harrison County, pledges urban pricing for rural customers

Charter (Spectrum) representatives told Harrison County commissioners they plan roughly 1,100 miles of fiber and about 8,762 passings in the county under the FCC Rural Digital Opportunity Fund, offering up to 1 Gbps service with no data caps and the same retail pricing as urban markets.

Ronda Anderson and Joe Canalis of Charter (Spectrum) presented the county with details of the FCC-supported Rural Digital Opportunity Fund buildout and said Spectrum is investing heavily alongside the FCC subsidy. "Spectrum is putting in five billion dollars of its own money... the FCC's roughly only going to be subsidizing about 1.2 billion," Canalis said, describing national and Texas allocations and the timeline for the six-year project.
