Pomfret planners push back on Two Rivers' 5-acre zoning proposal, reaffirm 2-acre preference

At its April 7 meeting the Pomfret Planning Commission said it will strengthen Draft Town Plan language to preserve the town’s 2-acre zoning expectation and signaled objections to Two Rivers Regional Planning Commission’s proposal to use a 5-acre density standard in nearby rural designations.

The Pomfret Planning Commission met April 7 to continue edits to the Draft Town Plan after receiving feedback from the Two Rivers Regional Planning Commission (TRORC). Commissioners emphasized preserving Pomfret’s existing 2-acre zoning expectation and said they would revise plan language to reflect that local preference.
