Representatives of Jenkins County volunteer fire departments briefed the board on budget and equipment needs. Eddie Dickey presented FY2026 budget information and said previous-year expenditures were "around $34,000" because routine maintenance had been deferred amid funding shortages; the board learned a new station is planned to open in 2026.
