Hendry County directs staff on temporary RV permits and accessory-use setbacks

Planning Director Ryan Alexander was directed to amend the Land Development Code to allow temporary RV permits for owner-builders (initial six-month permit, renewable twice for up to 18 months) on parcels of at least 0.75 acres and to research accessory-use setbacks for a broader code amendment.

Planning and Community Development Director Ryan Alexander presented code changes requested at the October meeting and asked for direction to move forward. Alexander said the proposed temporary RV permit would be issued initially for six months and could be renewed twice, allowing a total of 18 months; he also proposed limiting temporary RV permits to owner-builders on parcels of at least 0.75 acres to exclude higher-density Port LaBelle and Banyan Village lots.
