The Board voted to sponsor five students for a phlebotomy course after a Joseph Project presentation describing workforce training successes and partnerships that led to local hires and certifications.

Jackie Young, Office Manager and Director of the Joseph Project, told commissioners the organization is “100% more than a food bank,” describing workforce training programs including phlebotomy classes that she said had a 100% success rate across three classes of 15 students each and resulted in some participants obtaining work at regional blood banks.
