Commission Selects TeachForwardOK Award Recipient, Including One $500,000 Grant

The Commission voted July 8, 2026, to select TeachForwardOK Program educator preparation program applicants to receive monetary awards, including selecting one applicant to receive $500,000. Jennifer Carlson moved to "Select one TeachForwardOK Program EPP applicant to receive $500,000.00 to enact the initiatives outlined in the EPP’s TeachForwardOK Program report response and select additional TeachForwardOK Program EPP applicants to receive a monetary award to enact the initiatives outlined in the EPPs’ TeachForwardOK Program report response pursuant 70 O.S. § 6-186.1." Secretary of Education Daniel Hamlin seconded; the motion passed unanimously by roll call of the five members present.
