Commission authorizes police to apply for 2026 COPS community policing microgrant
The commission unanimously authorized the Police Department to apply for the 2026 COPS Community Policing Development microgrant to support community policing initiatives.

At the July 21 meeting the commission approved a motion allowing police staff to apply for the U.S. Department of Justice's 2026 COPS Community Policing Development microgrant. The motion was made by At-Large Commissioner Torrey Brown and seconded by At-Large Commissioner Lucas Allen; it carried unanimously.
