Knox County workforce staff described recent changes that expand SNAP work requirements to 16–64-year-olds and said Ohio Works 1st now allows more situational flexibility, with intensive case management to address barriers.

Randy Booth, workforce administrator at OhioMeansJobs Knox County, told commissioners that recent policy changes have broadened who is subject to SNAP work requirements. "Previously, it was 18–54 year olds who did not have dependents... Now it's 16 64," he said, noting 16–17-year-olds are affected if they are not enrolled in school.
