Planning staff summarized code amendments required by Senate Bill 284 and how the city proposes to implement them. Staff noted that the amendments would allow one detached accessory dwelling unit (ADU) per eligible lot (11,000 sq ft or larger), require the primary property owner to occupy one unit, require rental licensing, and set parking thresholds: one additional space if the ADU is 649 sq ft or less, two spaces if larger.
