Penn State Extension’s Jennifer Mercereau and Jessica Scull, joined by 4‑H member Samantha Lauersen of the Laurella 4‑H Club, appeared at the March 12 Wayne County Commissioners meeting for a 4‑H Week proclamation. Lauersen, a 15‑year‑old sophomore, described leadership, life skills and responsibility she learned through 4‑H and credited the program with helping shape her into a leader.
